SCADA - System Integration
What does SCADA mean?
It means Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition.
So what does that mean?
That means
that SCADA is a bundling of software programs and hardware
components used for process control and the gathering of data in real time from various locations
in order to control equipment and conditions. SCADA is used in a variety
of industries including:
Aerospace,
Automotive, Power
Plants, oil and gas refining, telecommunications, transportation, water
and waste control, energy, pharmaceutical, heat treatment and a variety
of other industries.
SCADA systems include hardware and software components. The
hardware gathers and feeds data into a computer that has SCADA
software installed. The computer then processes this data and
presents it in a timely manner. SCADA also records and logs all
events into a file stored on a hard disk or sends them to a printer.
SCADA warns when conditions become hazardous by sounding alarms.
